Um, we've, you know, we've done the whole scripted podcast for for a minute now, and then we've done some just raw, real related, just talk your emotions out podcast. And um, but we always sit downstairs in the living room and just kind of chat like two women do.

Recap the world, right? Um, recap what's going on in our life, recap all the things, and then we get up to the podcast, and I'm like, oh, we should have talked about that. Yeah. So uh we're gonna try that today. So uh we've uh we've taken the time to, you know, kind of pray over this and uh to pull some Bible verses that kind of talks about our week and talks about where we've been or where we're coming from and where we're headed, it maybe, and uh we're just gonna kind of conversate today and see where it goes. So I have some exciting news.

So, so I since you brought up the women's conference and I sent you the first one, it's exploded. It's exploded. Like we need to just pick a day and a time.

So I have a full conference right here for you to take home and read over and pray. Um, it has just completely exploded. Like I I can't sleep at night. I I hope I'm done.

I literally said it again Sunday morning. Like, now we need to do a woman's covering.

So it has it. I mean, I I'm done, Jesus. I hope we're done. I need a good night's sleep. You know, like we say yes, Lord. I know, like, okay, it's I wrote it, it's there, right? Uh the concept is there, the uh the name of it is there. Um, you know, there's just the small details. So uh one of the small details is we're at. So I've been praying over that all week, and I have a suggestion. Okay. I think we do it at Providence Ministries, and we allow the women to volunteer so that they can be a part of it. And they don't like the women showing. Yeah, so they don't have so they don't have to worry about paying and they still get to come and be a part of it. And then I thought I would ask my dad and some of his friends if they would cook for us because my thought process is I'd like to meet on a I'd like to do it Saturday morning. Um, we do it, we break for lunch, then we do the second half.

Are you talking about the shelter or the other part like the women's home? She would let us do it there too. Oh I mean they get there together, but they're separate, you know what I mean?

So I I got that far ahead. Like this bigger this is this is my you know, well, I was thinking we'd use the the church part of it or whatever. But whatever. And then, you know, if 10 people show up, the if 10 people sign up to come, then we do the smaller one, and if a hundred people show up, we do the bigger one, right? Like it's whatever God this is this is just a thought out loud, right? This now, like, right? Because I haven't asked nobody, I haven't talked to nobody, I've just it's just been like flowing, right? So and then we and then we we get the men to cook for lunch, we all break for lunch, and then we come back and we do our panel session that I have in here, and then we do our worship and our altar call. So it would be a pretty much all day thing on a Saturday.

So, but I mean that's that and I and that's where I think I think that's where it is. You pray on it. Let me know what you think. She's like, I'm she's like praying on it. Well, and that was the other thing, like who's gonna lead worship? Who's gonna um, you know, who who do we get to come in to lead worship? Who do we get to be on the panel? Um, you know, and all those, like I have I have a what we need list, right? And that's where you come in, right? Because you know all the people and you know all the memory. I get and then we pick a date and a time and we're ready.

And then we can just pour into these ladies.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, and we can do we can grill hamburgers or hot dogs, right, to feed them, which isn't expensive, you know, and we charge ten dollars for them to come to help pay for some of the stuff. Yeah, or God, you just provide it, whatever you want to do, right? Like, we're just like it's still in the planning processes, but it's there. Yeah, we just gotta get the details now.

We had a brainstorm. So I'm so excited. I love that.

So um, as far as the women's conference goes, Hosea 10, 12. Break up your unplowed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers his righteousness on you. So that is a teaser on what it is about. So um, so I'm not gonna that's it. That's all you get. All you get is a verse.

Oh, sure, for sure. For the people that don't get to come, definitely, we'll definitely share. And I figure afterwards we can definitely talk about it and do all the things over that, but it's just been it's been a crazy, insane week for me. So besides that, and God, you know, for the last few times that we've talked, I talked about feeling distant, not hearing his voice, not doing this and not doing that. And I learned something this past weekend, something I already knew, right? But something apparently, you know, you have to be reminded of every now and again. And um, so me and Franny went to J Fest this weekend, and at J Fest there was this group of of young people in front of us. And when I say young people, you know, I'm turning 50 this year, so they're younger than me, but they wasn't teenagers. And there was this lady, and all day long, like I could just feel her spirit, like all day long. It kept saying, you know, you need to pray over her child ministry, you need to do this, you need to do that. And I kept thinking, huh? What are you talking about? Like I heard you in months, and now all of a sudden you want me to be this bold, full of faith kind of person. Like, well, wait a second, right? So all day long, just all day long, like I just kept seeing this, and I kept thinking, God, are they children ministry? You know, what is it? Like I couldn't, I couldn't see the whole picture. And so all day long it was just every, just everything, right? And then when we were worshiping uh with Danny Gokie when he was singing, and it said, and and I'm standing there, and you know, when I get into worship, and music is my my passion kind of thing, when I get into it, it just becomes me and him and nobody else in the world, right? Like nobody else in the world, and um so I was like, and I heard him, and it's the first time I've heard him in months, this clearly, but I heard him say, you just need to go tell her that what she's praying for is coming. Like, that's bold, right? Like that's completely bold. I am a stranger, she doesn't know me from Adam. Like, we've been nice or cordial all day long, but she don't know none of that. And I was like, and I kept, you know, well, we're worshiping right now. I'll do it during the break, you know, one of those maybe he'll forget kind of things, you know. He didn't forget. Yeah, no, he didn't forget. So like the break happens because between artists, you know, you have a you have a 20 or 30 minute break in between artists and uh somebody they knew from their church came up and was talking to him, and I was like, see, I don't want to really rude and interrupt, Lord, and and finally that lady, the lady walked away and I was like, okay, fine. I was like, okay, fine. Um and uh he was like, so I go up to her and I was like, I was like, my name is Shannon, and I said, God won't leave me alone, I have to pray over you. And she stands up and she says, Okay. And I started praying over, and um, you know, and I still didn't know where I was headed. Like I still didn't know what the prayer was supposed to be, you know, and you don't you're not supposed to know. That's the thing, right? And that's that was what I learned is you're not supposed to know. Um, and I said, uh, I said, whatever it is you're praying for, God says you're you're being you're prepared and it's coming, and it's coming sooner than you think. And she just burst into tears, right? And uh, and I continue to pray, and she goes, Thank you, Lord Jesus, thank you. We've been praying for a baby. And I was like, all day long, I've seen children ministry and children and this, you know, all day long. And she's like, Well, we are children ministry of our church and all of that. So they've been praying for a baby. So I got her number, she got mine, and we are um, and we've been exchanging conversation back and forth, uh and we're waiting to see where it happens, and but that awoke something in me, right?

That small act of obedience, and it's like I can't even tell that like you're a whole different you know what I mean. I'm excited, like you're not a whole different, but you know what I mean.

No, I'm yes, it's different. No, it's different. No, it's 100% different.

You're uh heavy, yeah.

Yeah, I'm not I'm not heavy, and that's yeah, like it's craziness. One act of obedience. So now it makes you know, so now I've been like, okay, so what have I not been listening to? What have I not been hearing? What have I not been obeying to? You know, what have I been letting life distract me from? So that's where we're at today. We're, you know, we're praying for our eyes to be open and our ears to be. So, um, but that's where we're at. And so it's just been insane ever since then. Like I said, I haven't slept really. Uh I mean, he's waking me up at like two in the morning with ideas for the conference, and I'm like, so I have all these like notes stuck everywhere at work, like there's just posted notes stuck everywhere, there's posted notes in my car, you know. And then today, I thought today that's all I've done is listen to worship music and just put all the thoughts together, and that's what it led to.

So I love that. It's been a not wild week, but you know, we took enough of another person in the house. Yes. Did we talk about this before? Did it run? Yeah. Yeah. And it's not been okay. I don't want to lie. It's not been terrible. Like, it I feel like it's more me than because we ain't really done nothing. Right. But it's different. It's different. And then so the Lord's really been like am I being selfish here, too, you know what I mean? Because I I don't know. And I feel like I'm um looking at things in the wrong perspective. So the Lord ain't really been doing me on that and reminding me, like the other day. Yeah, I was like, okay, Lord. Because I was really feeling my mind had been internal over this. And it ain't even maybe it's because I've been having to do something so I could be like, yeah, not worried about it. So change in the probation, and we did that twice in Alabama, and we interchange towards accepting. Um having another person around there. Right. We just had it, we just have to work. But so the Lord, I've been changing my perspective. Uh let me change my mind to I get to do this. I don't have to do this, but I get to do this. Yes. Because I don't have to feel like because I know that uh look at Remin 828, I'd worked all things together for the good. Like I it's been my house have been chaotic, and I'm like, what am I allowing? You know what I mean? Right. Like I'm not where am I letting the enemy take a foothold at, you know? And because nothing's really changed for it. Like she's not doing anything. Like she's sitting there, she's not like asking for stuff, asking to go place, you know what I mean? So I'm like, I don't know. They'll get it together.

Yeah, but it's another person in your house. It is. Right?

So it's another and I'm grateful that we can help her and that she's trying to get on the right track.

But it's not, it's not got that's not, I don't think it's got anything to do with being grateful or ungrateful. Uh I seen I seen a thing this week. I watched a I watch a guy, um, podcast guy, and um he said that women automatically take the care position, right? So now you have another human who has a human that you have to, you feel like you have to care for on top of working, working at the shop, working at your dad's store, on top of already taking care of Kevin and Orin and 5011 grandkids and all those things. And so you've added one more to it, you know, and nobody fixes you dinner, nobody washes your clothes, nobody, you know what I mean, picks up after you. And so sometimes it gets a little Saturday.

I literally I went to the store Saturday and I literally felt like I couldn't break back. I was like, what is wrong with me? Like I'm not having a panic attack. I've never had a panic attack because I really haven't ever suffered with like anxiety and stuff. So I'm like, what is it? I'm googling at it. Like I felt like I was literally like couldn't breathe. And I so I went and laid down there and prayed about it, and I was like, whatever this heaviness is, whatever this that I'm feeling.

And then you've allowed someone that are in the early stages of wanting to get clean in your house. And you can't tell me that the little whispers are not there. Like what? Just the little whispers. There's somebody around that, you know. The devil says weird things.

SPEAKER_01 15:46

Not not drug related, no, none of that.

SPEAKER_00 15:48

It doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_01 15:50

No, just the fact of just having it, like, what are we gonna do with this having a person? Like, uh in my mind, I'm I'm thinking like I'm already thinking like six months ahead, like what's she gonna do? What's it you know what I mean? That kind of stuff.

Like that, like the other stuff I don't So you're worried that you're worried about what the plan is?

SPEAKER_01 16:06

Yes. I'm trying to make a plane and you know what I mean? And I don't have one. You can't have one. I can't have one, and it's and and it's really causing um there was like stroffing. Strap with like tension, you know what I mean? And um because you're asking all the questions and he doesn't know the answers. Um I'm doing all these things for everybody, and then and then on top of that, like his um son called and um wanted to bring uh his truck because it really calls him a shock. So this is like the second week in a row, which is fine. So you can come get it. You know what I mean? They're leaving 45 minutes out. 45 minutes away. No, they wanted us to come get it, or meet them out no, I'm not doing that. So that goes a whole big. Uh you know what I mean? And like because I feel like some shouldn't say this online, but anyway. No, but you're adults here, you like you got money to spend on and all kinds of other stuff. Like you have the guys money to come get the trip. Right. If you really need it. Right. But what did we do the next day? We made them halfway. We made them halfway. So I use that time to um just I literally prayed the whole time. The whole way there. And um, it was really good. And so I needed that. That just okay, Lord, I don't know what you're trying to do here, but Karen, like, I ain't I ain't trying to feel like this. So what we gotta do? You know what I mean? And they and they started directing the different prayers. And um time I got there, I was just like, and then also Saturday, the Lord sent one of my friends out. Um, she just came by, happened to come out the store, and she prayed for me, prayed for peace, just praying like peace over me. And so the Lord was sending in people to to minister to me because sometimes we'd be like, we're always ministering to other people. Right. And and it ain't that we sometimes we don't allow people, other people to minister us because we we don't put ourselves in a position to let people minister us, but we're ministering to everybody else. Yeah, sometimes we're like, okay, I mean just sit for a minute and let me talk to you. And so, but it's been better, it's been better this week, but I don't know, last week I was like, listen, I'm about to move out. You know, I make now.

So that's funny because one of my verses that I that I chose today was um spiritual feeling spiritually overwhelmed. Psalms 139, 23 through 24. Search me, God, and know my heart. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

I was supposed to read that to you because I was like, that's how I felt three weeks ago. That's not how I felt last week, you know what I mean?

And uh don't get me wrong, I'm so happy that she she has done good and like she has one time made me think for any any shape or function that she wants to go back for. She ain't had no contact with nobody. You know what I mean? She's been right here with no not talking to anybody. So um she could have already called somebody on here to get her to call walking because that's her thing. You know what I mean? But she said that's her thing. That's her thing. So it's not her. Oh my god. It is now.

Yeah. So um, anyway, it's gonna get better. And you know what? I don't have to have it all figured out. Uh I think that's one of my control issues.

So you get I think we get complacent and we get content in this routine. One, two, three, me and mine. You know what I mean? And then when it's that routine is disrupted, we don't know why I don't know what to do with it.

Right. Well, and that's one of the things, I mean I seen a TikTok the other day and it said, you know, God's full of jokes. And if you sit back and think about it, like when you're when you're in full peace, right? Which we're in peace every day, don't get me wrong, but you know what I mean. Like when we are in full contentment or or whatever, when we're very comfortable where we are. I don't even know what the word is. But when we're there, he throws a he likes to throw, you know, something at you, you know, or he likes to, you know, make you and I'm not saying question him or anything, but he wants you, he wants to when you get too comfortable, he wants you not to forget who made you comfortable. Yeah, right? And uh he is full of jokes. Yeah. Don't call me the wheel or God is definitely full of of jokes, you know, and um, but it's just been I don't know, like it's so funny how one week I'm distressed and the next you are, but then God brings us together, you know, because like last week we kept trying to get together and we couldn't, you know, and then uh and I didn't have a podcast. I didn't have a podcast, and um, I got up 6 30 Sunday morning before I went to work and recorded the podcast that aired that uh posted Sunday night um talking about J Fest and and and Haley and the story that I told on the beginning of this one, and uh and then from that moment on, like he's just been I feel like I've been puking it out and it's just been insane. But and I don't know this is gonna sound weird or bad or I don't know, but the addict in me needs that. It needs that, like it gives me a rush. Like I've never felt before. Does that make sense? You know, and and I don't want to compare it to getting high, but we don't have that attic in that somewhere. So, but you know, but it does, like it gives me this burst of energy and this. Yes, yeah. Like it's a spiritual high. And like it just makes me want to just like I I feel like I could sit up here and write all day long. All day long. And you know, I don't know about all that. That's that's a clock. That ain't me. But I get, you know.

So besides that, God's good. You know what I mean? I I is uh I don't know. Sometimes we allow the enemy to use things that ain't even uh things. It wasn't even bad things. And to distract us or to overwhelm us or you know cause chaos. Cause chaos. So I was brand that. No way, Sunday. I was a praying peace over my house, and it was a very it was not oh no one gonna be gonna sleep prayer. It was very with authority prayer, right?

You know what I mean?

With boldness. Yeah, you know what I mean? And so it was very muted.

And it's like we know what to do, but we have to wait until we're pushed right to that edge before we do it, right? And that was that was one of the things over the last couple weeks, and that was like, you know, God speaks louder than ever. Sometimes, you know, and then but most of the time he's he doesn't, you know, when uh when they were in the boat and the storm was coming, you know, Jesus is over here asleep, right? Like, and they're all like, you know, what are you doing? You know, and he's like, Peace is peace, right? Peace be still, and so it's one of those we know the boat, but for some reason we want to jump into the water.

So one of the verses I chose was Philippians 4, 6 through 7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Yes, by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving. See, a lot of times we do that the praying and petition into God is about what we want to thanksgiving part.

But I thank you that you have given me this marvelous opportunity.

Well, that's that's the I get to add a get to attitude, right?

And then it's Psalm 34, uh, four through five and eight. I sought the Lord and He answered, answered me and delivered me from all my fears. We had literally prayed, we've been praying for this child for every day.

Yeah.

That was answered prayer.

SPEAKER_00 25:30

You prayed for what you I mean, you got what you asked for. You prayed for it. But we don't never when it happens, we don't never see the prayer.

Like And I was like, you know what? I'm built for this.

SPEAKER_00 25:43

That's right. I'm built for this. But you've got a village. Yeah, oh yeah, you've got a village that you didn't have before. That's you know what I mean? Like, you've got all of us. Like, I mean, I've already started buying baby shower stuff. Like, I'm planning one, and there's stuff I can use from the first one into the second one, and then I just add the stuff to make it her theme. Like, I've already got this. Like, I'm gonna have two baby showers in less than a month.

See, that's why I got somebody the other day, I was like, I'll stop worrying about you. And I'm saying my friend, I said, not even I don't even know if it's two, three days after she got here. My friend's already messaging me like baby themes and um I why would I even worry? You know what I mean?

That's right, we got you. We got you. That's why God put us together. You know, I mean, when I first seemed more excited than me.

I am that planning stuff, y'all.

Oh no, yeah, no, I love that. Like, and it's not everybody's like, it's so stressful. I don't want to be a party planner, I don't want it to be a job. I enjoy doing it for people that I love. Right.

So let's not let's not even start following her asking her to paying your cards.

No, because that is not a thing. Um, but I do enjoy doing it. I think it's too because you have such a servant's heart. I do.

That you had that and you were you just automatic. If she sees a Nick, Shannon's jumping in. Oh, I am that's who she is.

I am, I am. It's definitely, yes, yes. You know, and and that's and that's one of the Bible verses, John 10, 27. My j my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. And you know, it bothers me when I don't hear his voice, right? It bother even though I know he's not gone anywhere. I mean, he stood next to me for 17 years while I got high and and and told him no. You know, he definitely gonna go nowhere now. Like, you know, but that's one of those definite, you know, I want I guess that's what I want. Like I want him to say, hey, you know, go pay for that lady's breakfast, or you know, and it not whatever, but you know what I mean, not monetarily all the time, but I want go pray for her, go do this, go do that. Like, I want that all the time. And sometimes he's just like, You got a lot going on. Yeah, you probably should just rest a minute. And I'm not good at resting, right?

I mean, I'm on three days, and I've already got the next three days planned out to work to do something else.

That's us, that's what we do, that's what we do. So, so my theme for the week is spiritual awakening. So Ephesians 5:14, wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. So I think that one, I thank him for giving me the opportunity to be awakened this weekend, this past weekend, and I pray that he continues to not let me slide left or right in that because just becoming spiritually alert, hearing him clear, you know, sensing I can just sense things around me. And that's what I love. Like I love that. I love the discernment, and that's what I felt like I had lost was or that I didn't understand. And how can you understand discernment one minute and not understand it the next? Right. And that's that's the season kind of where I've been, I feel like lately. But when he awakens me, when he awakens you, you know, you feel different, your discernment sharpens, like you're just you know, all the your awareness increases.

I think that all of us have different spiritual gifts. Oh, for sure. Sometimes we let them lay and I like the birds, wake up, activate your gifts, grass the Lord, and sometimes you're gonna miss it. Yes. And I hadn't prayed over anybody.

And then I'm not gonna want to pick and choose if I minister to work.

She goes, I want to pick and choose.

Yeah. Don't we sometimes?

Oh, for sure. Because when he wants you to sometimes he wants you to, it's bold. Yeah. Like, you know, like the whole Haley thing. That was that was bold, bold. Because, you know, I I don't know about you, but like I asked the lady if I could pray for her, and this has probably been seven or eight months ago, and she told me no, that she only let certain people put their hands on her and pray over her. And I thought, okay, well, let me walk away. Maybe that was not me. Maybe that wasn't God telling me to pray over her, right? Like, I'm like, okay. Or maybe she was being right.

But also get the Lord that you see things, you know what I mean?

Yeah. And so and I and that's the first time I've ever had it, you know, asking somebody to let you pray over them is is is scary and it's bold and it's it's nerve-wracking, you know, because but she told me no. I ain't never had nobody tell me no. That was the first time. I was like, okay, and I just turned around and walked away. And then I prayed for her silently in my office. You know, but I just and I maybe that's where it started, the the questioning and of the discernment. Maybe now that we're talking about that, that's where the questioning of discernment started, probably. That's weird.

I know I heard you say that, and I was like, No, it's not me. Yeah. Okay, I missed it there, sorry.

Yeah, my bad.

You know, and we just test the spirit. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Yeah.

So if you're not sure it's trying, you know what I mean? If not, they don't want you to pray, it's okay.

Yeah, and you know, and if you think it's God wanting you to do something, then do it. Whether it's big or small, uh, you know, a women's conference, that's huge. That's a lot of planning, that's a lot of, you know, a lot of things to do. It probably won't be fancy. It it probably won't be it probably won't be fancy, but it's it's gonna, I feel like it's gonna touch the people it's supposed to. And I feel like that it's headed in the in the direction that my heart wants it to go into, which I feel like God is definitely leading that. And so um we're gonna let Deb read it and see what she thinks.

Okay, Lord, we love you. We thank you, Lord, that you love us right where we're at, and we are grateful that we can be raw and we can be real, and that you don't condemn us, Lord, and we just love you for that. And Lord, I just pray that if there's anybody struggling listening today, God, that you would just meet them right where they're at, Lord. And if there's anybody listening that don't know you, Lord, that they would just believe in their heart, Lord, and that have a relationship with you, God. And we just thank you that these ideas and these things that you have doing and want to do, Lord, is gonna be set on fire for you, Jesus. In your name I pray. Amen.
